CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Gymnastics is a hobby for children, where they practice basic physical skills and the basics of gymnastics. Our gymnastics ideology supports children’s basic skills, play, dance and strength skills.
Children’s participation is important. It is a way to ignite the spark of physical activity, reduce inequality, support participating in groups and enhance basic learning. All children have the opportunity to receive guidance in a group where the child’s individual development is supported. The educational content of the groups is divided into basic motor skills, technical, creative expression, play, improvisation and pedagogical content.
FOR FAMILIES
Perhegym — Family Gym
Family gym is a versatile and fun exercise for the whole family. During the classes, adults and children move together by doing stunts and playing games. A class lasts 45 minutes where about half of it is guided activities and the other half is free movement and play with all the equipment provided. In addition to parents, grandmothers, grandfathers, godparents or other relatives of the children are welcome to all classes. The recommended age for children in Family Gym groups is 1-6 years.
FOR CHILDREN AND JUNIORS
Akrogym (9-12 years)
Akrogym classes introduce children to the basics of gymnastics, acrobatics and dance gymnastics. During the classes, you practice basic skills in a different playful ways. Bring yourself a sports clothing, a drinking bottle, a hair tie for long hair and a lot of joy.
Dance kids (4-6 years)
Dance kids class is made for children under school age who are into dance. Children move playfully under the guidance of professional and trained instructors, practicing the basics of dance. The classes include technique exercises, musical exercises and choreographic steps without forgetting the joy of play. The goal of the class is to develop motor skills, sense of rhythm, muscle fitness, and body control with common social and teamwork skills. During the class, we move with joy and listen to the children!
Dance junior (6-8 years)
Dance junior is a children’s dance class where we get to know different dance styles, take inspiration from them and practice choreographic steps. The point is to learn the basic skills of dance while developing muscle fitness and body control. Let’s learn new things together and experience the joy of dancing! Classes consist of warm-ups, technique sets, stunts and choreography practice.
Ninjagym (6-8 years)
These classes introduce basic physical skills, basic gymnastics skills and parkour. Classes are suitable for either beginners or more experienced gymnasts. Ninjagym classes are sure to make children sweat, learn new skills and support everyday activity.
Show dance (over 9 years)
This is a dance class where you dance to different styles of music. The class goes through the basics of show dance. The important thing in show dance is improvisation and performance. Classes practice both expression and dance technique, such as jumps and pirouettes. In addition to warming up, classes practice movements across the hall and throw yourself into dance sets with joy. The group creates performances in the association’s Christmas and spring shows in Kanneltalo.
Tanssillinen Voimistelu — Dance gymnastics (9-12 years)
A gymnastic class that combines dance and gymnastics includes basic gymnastics, choreographies and expressive movement. The point of the classes are mix with basic gymnastics skills, core exercise technique and jumps as well as various physical qualities, such as mobility and strength. Dance gymnastics classes combine exercise, rhythm, creativity, aesthetics and expressiveness.
Telinevoimistelu — Artistic gymnastics (4-6 years and 6-8 years)
In these gymnastics classes, children learn the basic tricks and skills of artistic gymnastics on different racks. During the classes, children practise in a diverse, joyful and playful way. The point of these classes is to introduce children to the basics of artistic gymnastics through play so that everyone has the opportunity to practice and develop according to their own skill level. The classes include warm-up play, floor exercises and stunts. The classes also teach how to be in a group, listen to the instructor and learn about body awareness and control. Children can come to the class also without any previous gymnastic background. At least two instructors are responsible for the safety of the classes. Welcome to do tricks!
Vauhti course (4-8 years)
Vauhti course is an opportunity to get to know gymnastics as a hobby. The short course consists of three to four high-quality gymnastics classes, which are built on the foundation of basic motor skills. The classes practice the basic skills of gymnastics through inspiring and playful exercises and the goal is for the child to learn the basics of stunts and cartwheels as well as to jump, balance and roll. Come and get to know the basics and try them out. Gymnastics belongs to everyone!
Voimistelukoulu — Gymnastics (4-6 years)
The gymnastics basic class for children provides a wide range of basic physical skills and the basics of gymnastics. This class supports children’s basic gymnastics skills, play and expression, dance and strength skills.
